NECC 2007 : Zimbra in Education

Calling all Educational Administrators! Zimbra is going to NECC 2007 on June 25-27, 2007 in Atlanta, and we’ve got some free passes to give away.

The National Educational Computing Conference features hands-on workshops, lecture-format and interactive concurrent sessions, discussions with key industry leaders, and the largest educational technology exhibit in the world.

We know there are a lot of educational institutions that are genuinely under-funded. I joined Zimbra from one such district. I have 6 years of experience in education as an IT Director for a couple of schools in Arizona.

It was always my job to find the best software in terms of features/needs, cost, reliability, and scalability. It’s a tough marketplace. That’s where Zimbra comes in. Zimbra is an excellent platform for collaboration in education via our calendar and e-mail services, which is why I chose it for my district back in 2005.

Zimbra has been deployed in many educational environments as a solution that “just works”. Notably, Georgia Tech recently chose Zimbra for over 10,000+ mailboxes. Scalability is nearly limitless, and with the power of the UNIX/LINUX/MAC server, reliability is unparalleled.

You can schedule meetings with other teachers, or with students. Make a lesson plan and share it with other teachers and parents via iCal. Put assignments on your student’s calendars.

Principals and Administrative Assistants can keep an absence list to know who will be gone and when.

Zimbra can fit into any existing network infrastructure. With our migration tools for Lotus and Exchange, we can help make your move as easy as possible.

If you’re in the Atlanta Area, let us know! We’ve got some free passes and want to give them away. We’ll be in booth 3449, and will be giving some demos and answering questions.
