Today, we just released the latest version of our community software solution: Zimbra Community 8.0. First, before I give you the highlights of our new release, I would like to clarify any confusion around the product name. Last year in July, Telligent and Zimbra merged to form one, unified organization. As a result of that merger, the name of our community software solution changed. Previously named Telligent Community and Telligent Enterprise, our community offering is now known as Zimbra Community. I am thrilled to announce the recent exciting news within our leadership team at Zimbra. Given our commitment to our customers, channel partners, and international market footprint, we have added significant depth and expertise to our executive ranks. First, Thom O’Connor has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Global Support. Thom will ensure that Zimbra’s global base of customers and partners receive high quality, 24/7 technical support. Thom is in his seventh year leading Zimbra technical support and related services.  Prior to Telligent acquiring Zimbra from VMware, Thom was part of the VMware Global Support Services organization and served in leadership roles managing support, training and professional services for emerging products and end-user computing. Previously, Thom worked as a messaging expert at Yahoo, Sendmail and CommuniGate Systems. Today we are celebrating the fifth annual Community Manager Appreciation Day (CMAD) – a day steeped in social business history. (Sound the gong!) Straight out of the mouths of Wikipedians: Community Manager Appreciation Day takes place every 4th Monday of January as a way to recognize and celebrate the efforts of community managers around the world using social media and other tools to improve customer experiences. Back in good old 2010, the thoughtful and astute Jeremiah Owyang, of social business industry analyst fame, founded the special day of note. If you are not in community management or around it, you might think it is just one of the many “International [insert topic] Day” days. It’s not. Zimbra Lends a Helping Hand at DFW Susan G. Komen 3-Day

I lost my mother to breast cancer in 1996. Back then, breast cancer was still a disease that wasn’t very well understood. Today, many organizations have made it their mission to provide resources and support people impacted by breast cancer year-round. While Breast Cancer Awareness Month ended last month, that doesn’t mean our support for the cause has to end as well. To continue our support as a company, the first weekend of this month, over a dozen Zimbra employees signed up to help out our customer, Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, at the organization’s 3-Day in Dallas. For those of you not familiar with the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure®, it is a three-day walk where those participating walk approximately 20 miles each day in support of breast cancer until they reach the closing ceremony on the third day.… Read more »
