Business as Usual

It’s been 24 hours since the world heard that Zimbra would join the Yahoo Team and ever since the news hit, we’ve been hearing from our community and customers. We want to thank you for your support and reiterate our commitment.

The most important and most repeated message heard around our halls at HQ these past few hours has been, “it is going to be business as usual”. Both Zimbra and Yahoo understand how all these things are so important to the success of Zimbra to date, and going forward: vibrancy of our community and forums, relationships with our customers and partners, access to the source code, transparency in our processes, and our willingness and openess in letting our community and customers influence product direction.

We are not going to squander all those good things that make Zimbra successful, in fact we are going to do our best to do more on all these fronts!

The world of messaging and collaboration is a market with major players like Yahoo, Microsoft, IBM, and Google. This acquisition gives Zimbra a chance to be a bigger leader and contender, bolstered by backing from the Internet’s largest company.

Zimbra 5.0 is still on track for November and we will still be providing source and binaries for current and future releases. Zimbra 4.5.7 should be out as early as this week.

We want to hear from you about your concerns and questions. We will respond to all questions within 24 hours, and we will continue to update our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Sincerely,
-The Zimbra Team
