Patch Release For Deprecated Files Deletion, OpenJDK Security Enhancement, Migration Support to Zimbra Daffodil (v10)

Patch updated on 18 Dec include the following in their respective releases

  • What’s New

OpenJDK has been upgraded to version 17.0.8 to fix multiple vulnerabilities

  • End of Patch for Zimbra Sever on Ubuntu 18.04

There will no longer be any patch releases for Zimbra Daffodil (v10) on Ubuntu 18.04 operating system. Customers are encouraged to use Ubuntu 20.04 for installations of Zimbra Daffodil (v10) to benefit from future patch releases.

  • Migration Support for Daffodil (v10) 

In-place upgrade guides are now available for customers on ZCS 8.8.15 or 9.0.0 to migrate to Daffodil (v10). This is available to both NG and non-NG users.

Whether your setup is a Single Node or Multi Node configuration, the Migration Support covers both types of setups. Migration support for NG Connect / Chat modules is not included in this release.

End of General Support 

Support, security patches, or updates for these versions of our collaboration software will last through the below dates

Zimbra 9.0.0 End of General Support: 2024/12/31

Zimbra 8.8.15 End of General Support: 2023/12/31

    The latest Zimbra patch release also updates Java to version 17.0.8, the Java binary is provided by RedHat, before the latest patch we used binaries provided by Oracle, but Oracle no longer releases them.

    There should not be a difference, but in case there is, keep this in mind!
