Zimbra Patches: 8.8.12 Patch 4 + 8.7.11 Patch 13

Hello Zimbra Friends, Customers & Partners,

Zimbra 8.8.12 “Isaac Newton” Patch 4 and 8.7.11 Patch 13 are here.

Zimbra 8.8.12 “Isaac Newton” Patch 4

Patch 4 is here for the Zimbra 8.8.12 “Isaac Newton” GA release, and it includes fixes as listed in the release notes.

Fixed Issues

OWASP related fixes that impact inline and attached images in an email.

  • After the upgrade, when replying to a mail with a signature containing an image, this image is no longer added as an attachment every 10-20 seconds.
  • The images contained in an email print file are now visible and do not appear broken.
  • Inline and signature images do not appear as attachment on reply and forward of email.
  • Creating a signature through ZCO does not insert extra line breaks within a signature.
  • Fixed issues with HTML Mail rendering.

Patch Installation

For Zimbra 8.8.8 and above, you don’t need to download any patch builds. The patch packages can be installed using Linux package management commands. Please refer to the release notes for Zimbra 8.8.12 Patch 4 installation on Red Hat and Ubuntu platforms.

If Proxy/MTA services are on mailbox node, admin can install MTA and proxy patches first and then zimbra-patch. In this case, zmcontrol -v would show version as Patch 8.8.12_P4.

Note: Installing a zimbra-patch package only updates the Zimbra core packages.

Zimbra 8.7.11 Patch 13

Patch 13 is here for the Zimbra 8.7.11 GA release, and it includes fixes as listed in the release notes.

“added as an attachment every 10-20 seconds” to be more precise, the attachments are added every time a draft is saved… Not every 10-20 seconds, but it happens when a draft is saved either automatically or manually. Setting zimbraPrefAutoSaveDraftInterval to 0 fixes the problem as well.
