Get Zimbra 8.8.6 – Improvements for NG Modules & nginx zimbraVirtualHostname now acting as usual

Greetings, Friends. In December, Zimbra launched Zimbra Collaboration 8.8, introducing the NG Modules, a cutting-edge new set of capabilities that add real-time backup and restore, the ability to move infrequently-accessed blobs to Amazon S3, an easier yet powerful Delegated Admin module and the long-awaited ability to sync shared Zimbra resources to all of your devices.

Now available are 8.8.6 improvements, including more than 30 fixes for the new NG Modules, a few important fixes for EWS and some fixes for those using IMAP. In addition, we have received feedback from customers and our community about the way we handled the nginx security on our first 8.8 Release (8.8.5). We listened! We’ve now added a new ldap attribute for those who want to further tweak this functionality:

Name zimbraReverseProxyStrictServerNameEnabled
Description Configure the default server block in ‘nginx.conf.web.https?.default.template’ to return a default HTTP response for all unconfigured host names. See also related attributes ‘zimbraVirtualHostname’ and ‘zimbraVirtualIPAddress’.
Type boolean
Optional in globalConfig,server
Requires restart nginxproxy
Since 8.8.6

Jorge, is bugzilla.zimbra.com still in use? There are tons of bugs there that haven’t seen updates in more than a year, some of them including contributed patches, all in UNCONFIRMED state. If this isn’t alive, how do we report bugs to Zimbra?

    Examples:
    – Emojis don’t display in message body: https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=107052
    – Unbound misconfigured for IPv6 ULAs: https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=108003

    Please advise.
