Zimbra Collaboration 8.7 is almost here, but before we move forward to the Golden bits, we really want to hear from you.
We’ve been conducting a private Beta Program for the past two months with some of our Partners Worldwide. We want to thank all of them for the time they’ve spent reporting issues, posting in the private Forums and providing such amazing feedback.

We are asking for feedback from our Customers, Partners and Open Source users, and we are proud to invite you to this Public Release Candidate Program.
We are looking for
Product Feedback from Partners and Customers on:
- UI
- Performance
- Installation
- Upgrade
- New features
Rules
- All bugs will be reported through bugzilla with the 8.7 keyword8.7.0_ZCS_JudasPriest_RC
- No Zimbra Support will be provided for the Release Candidate Program software
- Release Candidate, Network Edition, testers must use their actual license to have a functional platform. If you have any issue with your license, please open a Support Ticket.
What’s new in Zimbra Collaboration 8.7?
With this new Release, we have an enormous list of fixed Bugs, enhancements, fixed security issues, etc. You can take a look into the next Bugzilla search, while we are finishing the Release Notes for the GA.
But you can start by trying some of the new great features:
- Zimbra Collaboration two-factor authentication – In this Release Candidate (8.7.0_RC1_1601), the two-factor authentication feature will work with your actual NE license, so you can give it a try and provide feedback. Upcoming in the GA, this feature will be only available with a new Network Edition license.
- Zimbra Collaboration Postscreen – This is a great new feature to stop zombie and bot SMTP connections and reduce our MTA workload and bandwidth.
- Zimbra Collaboration Repository – Starting with Zimbra Collaboration 8.7 the majority of compiled FOSS third party packages are now fetched from a native (yum/apt) package repository. This is the first step in moving Zimbra to being based off of native repositories.
Please DO NOT UPGRADE your Production Environments! This Release Candidate is for Testing Purposes only. Zimbra will not provide Technical Support for those who upgrade a live Zimbra Infrastructure.
I’m really excited reading this. I’ve waiting for this release since I read all the improvements you guys were doing. Only thing that I felt little disappointment is that the most awaited feature, in GA the two-factor authentication will be only available on Network Edition.
Here in Brazil working for small Gov dept it’s really difficult to buy a NE license. Hope someday I could use Two-factor auth in Zimbra FOSS Edition.

I noticed Zimbra 8.7 is using Nginx 1.7.x. Will Zimbra 8.7 GA or 9 use latest Nginx 1.10 for HTTP2? :)

Will we be able to change passwords in AD via online access? and do we by any chance have the recall feature in this new release?
Hi…finally i’ve finished install ZCS 8.7 on Ubuntu. Everything are going ok except appointment. When i search for location it won’t show up neither when i search from box.
